Annual Prevention Summit

Since 1998, the California Prevention Collaborative (CPC) has been hosting an Annual Summit for the purpose of convening the prevention field to:

  • Dialogue about current issues facing the field; and
  • Share and learn about up-to-date evidence-based alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) prevention strategies.

Goals of the Annual Summit include:

  • Identifying common areas of concern across the Prevention field;
  • Discussing strategies for addressing common areas of concern;
  • Developing recommendations to the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (CA - ADP) and other state agencies about ways to support the prevention field;
  • Identifying areas for advocacy for the prevention field; and
  • Contributing to creating a more knowledgeable and competent prevention workforce.

The Prevention Summit has and continues to provide an opportunity to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, youth, community coalitions, educators, law enforcement, health professionals, community-based organizations, county alcohol, tobacco and other drug administrators, and community members.
